Don't Forget- this ends Saturday!

Please drop off a swimsuit and towel at Bellamia before Saturday! If you can't make it by during their store hours, I will be happy to deliver for you. This is such an awesome idea and what a wonderful way to help!! There's over 111 foster kids just in Houston County alone. Let's pull together to put smiles on their faces. Any size will work. (can get towel and swimsuit at Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Walmart, Target, just to name a few)

Four of Us!

We went to the beach with fevers and all. We decided on Friday afternoon that we would just head to Mom's condo and see how L felt the next morning. Well, Dantz woke up with a fever, so it confirmed our decision to hang as a family and call our sweet friends and ask for a next time. Neither girl felt great, but we'd get a pop of energy from each, every now and again. (usually not at the same time)

We headed to the beach Saturday am and it was double red flags. The wind was kickin', so we got fully involved in some kite action.
It was a beautiful day, if the wind could have held off just a bit. It was blowing about 30 mph and we knew the kite business wasn't going to last long. Lydia was entertained for much longer than D. She held her's tight and really thought she was something.

Will got Dantzler's up and going pretty good and she decided to let go. They both took off after it. It was quite cute to me, but I wasn't the one doing the running. Will just kept chasing it and I probably would have said, "bye-bye kite", but he brought it back for another go.
Then it started looking like this.... We talked about Ariel being in the waves and what the Sea Witch might be up to, but they were fizzling fast and it wasn't even lunch time. We knew that a picnic would be impossible in the sand. So, we packed up.
And took our lunch poolside. They caught a second wind and were loving the swimming pool. It was so cute to watch. (Chlorine kills all the germs, right?)
The water was COLD! I didn't even attempt to get in. I sat in a chaise lounge and soaked up some rays.
And helped Will keep an eye on one little girl and I'm not naming any names, but she's fearless! It was time for naps and they were beat. We put them down to snooze and we sat outside with our adult beverages and chatted for over two hours. It was good stuff and had been way too long. After they woke up, Will took them back to the pool.  And I chilled...

We went to dinner that night at Longhorn of all places. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan, but not at the beach. It's a long story how it happened, but those of you with kids know, when the clock is ticking and they are tired, you've got to act fast. So, Longhorn it was... I think the picture below is me reminding Will that I sure did want some good, fresh seafood. (as I was eating chopped steak)
Sunday, after breakfast and coffee, Sweet Will took them to the playground for some more fun. They were gone for over an hour and I just took it easy. Isn't it so nice to be away from home with nothing to do, but chill. I definitely think we should slip away more often.

They came back and scooped me up and we all headed back for round 2 at the pool. Again, I watched from the sidelines. They were having a ball, Will included.  It's already confirmed that he's the "fun one".

Life is crazy. I was so disappointed on Friday when we couldn't go to the beach with our friends for the weekend.  But, other than the girls being sick (and us not getting much sleep), the weekend was perfect with just the four of us!

Beach "Fever"

We went to the beach anyway... More pics to come!

Please help if you can! You have until April 30th and what sweet, sweet idea and wonderful way to help others!

The girls picked out a swimsuit last week, when I purchased their super cute ballerina suits. (Old Navy Specials) We're off to get a towel tomorrow and then we'll drop it all off at Bellamia on Westgate Parkway, Dothan. We hope you will too!

Waiting...

Will left after church on Sunday to go to Albany to do this.
He has been there all week working and is coming home around noon today. We are READY! There's a house full of girls that miss this man.

We are all packed and ready to head here..

but there's a fever in the house. BOO!  One little girl woke up at 3am saying "Beach" and the other woke up at 5am saying "Mama". So, we are playing the waiting game.  We told our 8am ride to roll on and we would touch base with them later. I'm hoping and praying we can touch base on the way down.

Regardless, it's the weekend.

Field Trip!

We took a field trip to Landmark Park this afternoon. Five minutes after we arrived, Dantzler got her head stuck in the fence. It really was tricky trying to get it out and she was not happy.
She wouldn't relax, so I could help her. Luckily, we managed to work it out and were able to check out more animals besides just the mule. The girls were really interested in the pigs.....
"Dantz, those pigs keep tooting" "Dantz, Did you hear it?"

They are so funny together. Lydia talks Dantzler's ear off and D just follows her where ever she goes. Finally, got them away from the pigs (thank goodness bc they were stinky) and checked out the rams.
"Billy Goat Gruff"

The Moo Cow was a bit too close for my comfort, but Lydia didn't seem to mind.

Bye-Bye Moo Cow!

Lydia feeding "Elbert" the goat.

She has a fresh egg in hand. Dantz threw hers and said, "don't like it" :(

It was a great adventure and a beautiful day!

It's En Route!

This is the Omnipod and it's officially en route to us.  I got word today from the company that they finally got all the information they need  from Lydia's doctor/nurses and Will's insurance company. We have been dotting a lot of i's and crossing a lot of t's these past few weeks, so I was beyond thrilled to get the call today. An answer to SO many prayers and a big thanks to all of you!!

This device just blows my mind.  It got our vote mainly because it is tubeless and there's no risk of tubes getting twisted while sleeping or getting pulled out of the skin from playing, sleeping, etc. Another great factor is the "pricey" part not being on her body, but in our hands. The wireless remote is on the left above and it will control it all. We will use it to check her blood sugar (still by pricking her finger) and to input the doses that she needs at meals and throughout the day.  (those doses will take the place of SHOTS. hallelujah!) The pod is the egg shaped device that Lydia will wear on her body. It has a needle that will insert into her skin and the insulin will flow from the "egg" into her body. My baby's pancreas will be the "egg". joking, sort of.

This bad boy will arrive by the end of the week. We will have to schedule another trip or two to Birmingham before we are officially up and running with it. Will keep you posted on our new journey.

Some Kind of Weekend!

We had a little birthday celebration on Friday afternoon/evening for Dantzler. Rolen's made the super cute monkey cake. (btw, Friday evenings are the way to go bc you get to have fun, fellowship and then it's over for the weekend. :)

Birthday Girl and Boy! Happy 4th Birthday Riggs!

They got cozy in their new sleeping bags on Saturday am. Thanks Aunt Cindy.

Will took them for a ride to the country, while I put the house back together Saturday morning.

Lydia getting serious with it.

Nice one!

Riggs had a great tennis birthday party on Saturday. Lydia wasn't so sure about tennis, but she did look cute!

Coolin' Off

Go Girls!

Dantz, I promise to get you a new "water suit" before we to public.  This is suppose to be a tankini but it's a bikini by mistake. ha!

"Wow, we had some kind of weekend, didn't we sister?"
