Happy Beach Day!

I highly recommend a middle of the week beach trip!

Will was able to work in PCB a couple of days, so we headed down to visit and play with Grandmother and Rob.

60 percent chance of rain, I think not!

Rob, Dantz, Grandmother and Lydia
Dantz as a Sand Mermaid

She was right by Grandmother's side the entire time

You all have seen these dudes walk the beach with their cameras, right? Well, I let him go for it with the girls.

Hello Naptime!

All was going great and well, until......

Dantz and Grandmother were busy making more sandcastles down by the water. Lydia and I had just returned from a short stroll. Grandmother yells for me to get Rob and I think she has been stung or something.

Long story short, she twisted or tore her knee and could not get up. Who knew building sandcastles was dangerous.

This is her being carried off of the beach. Yes, she's going to kill me. :)

Rob followed the ambulance on my van and the girls and I stayed to play.

We pulled a full day on the beach. Will picked us up when he was done working and we headed back to Grandmother's to check on her. It was a Happy Beach Day!  (thrilled to report MRI on knee came back clear)

We've got two little fish on our hands!

If they aren't going off the diving board, it's the slide.

Lydia was putting on her "watersuit" yesterday and said to me.
"I just don't want my pod to show at the pool because it makes me weird and different."

Whew, I didn't see that coming.

I explained to her that they are just curious and want to know what it is and it just makes her special.
She said, " Mom, I tell them I have diabetes and that it gives me insulin and they say, huh?"

She melts my heart.

Now, check out Dantz D with her skillz. This little angel started swimming last Summer when she was two. This video doesn't show her technique but she is good and fearless.

Down by the River!

Whew, I'm behind on this blog. Tonight, I'll just post about our fun, family adventure we took to the river on Saturday.

It was one of our best days together!!

Lyd is ready to get the boat in the water!

And here we go......

Lydia, "I'd really like to stay here until the sun goes down"

Finally getting up the nerve to get in the "dark" water :)

Didn't take long......

Papa, your boat makes a great diving board.

Chips and Beer! joking!
Seriously though, I don't own a "kini", but if I did the river is the place to sport it.

Dantz Machine getting tired

and she's out!

She pulled a FULL day of swimming! She was whooped too.

The girls got on their dry clothes and we headed

HERE for dinner!! YUM!

June has come and gone!

We have been busy and that's the way we like it. I'm doing my best to keep up with these two busy bees. The days are hot and long. Some are harder than others, but we are having a lot of fun!

Dantz showing her skills at gymnastics!

Lydia swinging on that bar like it doesn't phase her hands.

Omnifit every Mon, Wed and Friday at Calvary Baptist.

Lydia wasn't old enough to attend Diabetes Camp this year at Landmark Park, but they were so sweet to invite the girls to join them on the last day of camp. It was water day and the girls had a blast. Lydia is excited about going all four days next year.
Happy Girl at Diabetes Camp

Love this! Waiting their turn for the big water slide.

They had a blast!

This video has been on my phone for several months. I'm putting it on here, so I will always have it. My sweet L is going to teach us all a thing or two about betes. :)
